Lord, God, You meant that we should live in peace and yet the world is full of
forces that destroy peace. Teach me to be an instrument of Your peace which
surpasses all understanding. Help me this day to separate myself from the noise of
this world, from the negative attitudes of those around me, and from the inner
churning of my own anxieties. Help me to be freed of the suggestion that I need to
be in control of the events of my life. Help me to rest quietly in the solace of Your Divine Heart which is the source of all love and the basis of all real security. Remind me when I forget, that all my earthly pursuits will count for little except for the exchanges of kindness and love. Teach me to be at peace with You so that I can
be at peace with myself and in turn be an instrument of peace for others. Amen.
